Sunstone is so worthy of its name. This gem of a stone is derived from our precious earth in locales that reach from Scandinavia, Greece, India to the United States. Native American lore suggests its coppery tones signify a great warrior’s bodily gift back to the earth. Known as the stone of joy It exudes a spangled appearance of exquisite coppery shades. The sunstone, although associated with all seven chakras, is most closely associated with the third or sacral chakra. Sunstone nurtures the spirit and aids in the development of leadership, motivation, and creativity. As it promises to strengthens intuition and confidence, it is believed to counteract fear and stress and improve metabolism.

During the first half of the last century, Wilhelm Reich, an Austrian psychoanalyst and protégé of Sigmund Freud, developed a theory he referred to as orgone.
