Not far from the Finnish border, Shunga is one of the largest and oldest villages located in the Karelia Region of Russia. While the settlement culturally became known during the latter 14^th Century, elite noble shungite, the purest and rarest of the shungite mineral variety, was not discovered in the area until the 1700s.  Its deep black, glimmering sheen is unmistakable in suggesting its strength. Thus, the mineral is known to release an enduring powerful energy used to ward off anxiety, stress and EMF pollutants. Russian legend suggests shungite’s potential was known as far back as the reign of the first Russian Czar, Ivan the Terrible. It is believed that Peter the Great touted its ability to purify water. HOW TO MAKE SHUNGITE WATER:

First, boil your shungite chips for 10-15 minutes to ensure that all powder and residue has been removed. Next, place your shungite chips in the container in which you choose to purify your water. Last, pour your water into the container (approximately 1 liter per 10-15 grams of shungite) and allow it to sit for 4-6 hours before consuming.
