STONES TO CONNECT WITH SPRING AND NATURE

by Tom Modugno on May 04, 2023

After a long winter’s rest, the vernal equinox arrives. Mother Nature beckons us to celebrate her awakening. As sun rays strengthen and lengthen, both spring and summer perennials begin to emerge through the warming soil. Along with spectacular blooming biodiverse flora, crystals are one of nature’s incredible gifts to us. Here are several of my favorite stones as I interact with the natural world and welcome springtime.

 Petrified Wood

What better way to connect with nature than through a crystal which is derived from the evolution of trees. Petrified wood is a stone which has transformed from tree to crystal over multiple millenniums through a medium of underground running water.  This beautiful rusty-hued mineral is appreciated for its connection to ancestral knowledge transmitting powerful and transformative energy. It is symbiotic with the entire zodiac but most particularly the spirited Leo. Opening the Root, Sacral and Third Eye Chakras, this powerful, ancient stone is for all the ages.

 Ocean Jasper

Indeed, its name evokes the heightened awareness of the mind. Discovered and trademarked by Paul Obenich, as introduced at the 2000 Tucson Gem Show, this uniquely exquisite stone delights the senses through its earthy orb-like colors and designs.  An intense stress reducer, Ocean Jasper is appreciated as a stone of encouragement promoting poise, cooperation and dignity. Representing the water element, the stone strongly connects to the Solar Plexus, Throat and Heart Chakras bringing forth tranquility like a soft coastal tide.

 Moss Agate

Moss agate conjures up images and the scent of a deeply wooded forest through its soft variegated stands of green and gray hues. A very ancient stone, it continues to promote healing and restoration. While the stone’s energy fosters prosperity, it strongly aligns with the Heart Chakra. Its subtle verdant beauty makes moss agate a perfectly balanced addition to feng shui practice and décor.

 Sunstone

Its spangled hues of vibrant sunrays make it a stone of pure joy. The lively sunstone connects to all the chakras promoting it as a natural nurturer of the spirit. Sunstone has long been associated with leadership, motivation and creativity. While promoting intuition and confidence, the crystal is instrumental in sparking the metabolism and overall energy.

As Mother Nature’s annual rebirth unfolds, I wish you a splendid spring and time to connect with her most precious crystal offerings.
